To create equitable opportunities for quality paramedical education and to increase themerit levels of the staff pool we pick from, SreeRenga Hospital set up the Narbhavi Institute of Paramedical Sciences in 2005. Under the aegis of bodies such as the Tamil Nadu Open University and the Indian Medical Association, one-year, vocational diploma courses geared toward various entry-level careers in the healthcare industry are offered.After completion of the courses, students undergo on-the-job Clinical training before being inducted as full-time employees in medical colleges and other private hospitals, including ours. At once raising the bar on quality and enabling stable livelihoods to many in the community
Classrooms are equipped with slide projector, LCD monitor, audio system and educational charts. A well stocked library with all related medical books and journals, facilities for reading, photocopying, data processing and internet access are available.
Anatomy lab facility with required aids of Skeleton and bones, fundamental of Nursing aids with required beds and Mannequires, fetal monitor and access to NICU (for maternal and newborn health monitoring) are available and open to the students of the course. Community Health Nursing classes are conducted with the required Audiovisual aids & students are taken to various monthly community health programmes conducted by the hospital. The faculty consists of highly qualified personnel with a proven good academic records & teaching experience to maintain a high & excellent standard in education.
CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Being a 47-bed, multispecialty hospital, students at SRH have the opportunity to gather rich clinical knowledge by the diversity of patients (medical, surgical, Obstetric & Gynecological, Orthopedic, Paediatricetc). Laboratory facilities with all biochemistry, Microbiology, IUI lab facility are available for students to gain clinical experience.
Operation theatres are well equipped with sophisticated equipments to impart training to the operation theatre technician & Nursing students. 3 Operation theatres are run in SRH equipped with Boyle’s apparatus, cardiac monitors, NIBP, Defibullator, ventilators, eye & ENT microscopes, Laparoscopic equipments etc.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Students from the NIPS regularly participate in community health programme conducted by SRH & the Diabetic Center in the nearby villages of Chengalpattu. Students are trained to give counseling & they educate patients regarding various diseases.

COLLEGE HOURS:
College will be functioning regularly from Monday to Saturday between 8 AM to 5 PM. Clinical posting timing will vary.

EXAMINATION
Students are required to appear for the examination conducted by the TamilNadu Open University every year.

OT Exam – Examination conducted by IMA, Tamilnadu in the month of June – July.
Practical Examination will be conducted by the external examiners appointed by the Tamil Nadu Open University
